"Marisol Fuentes" was born near Cadiz on the Atlantic coast of Andalucia and developed a passion for the “cante” at an early age. From these origins she has made the “Cantes de Cadiz” her particular specialty while still remaining true to the traditional flamenco music forms from all the provinces of her beloved Andalucia. She has performed professionally with artists of the highest caliber on stage and tablaos in Spain, the Unites States and Mexico. She has been featured as a singer in numerous television and stage productions such as “Las Noches de Cadiz”, “Sadika”, “Return to Sefarad”, “Noches Flamencas” and many others. She has sung in the opera production of “De Flierdemais” and for the “Ballet Nacional Español” at LA’s Hollywood Bowl in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra’s homage to composer Manuel de Falla. Presently Marysol performs as the singer for the most acclaimed flamenco companies throughout the United States. With a wide vocal range, she is highly sought after as a soloist and her extraordinary sense of “compas” (timing) makes her singing an invaluable accompaniment to flamenco dance.
